Sportswear manufacturer Nike has reported revenue of $8.2 billion in the second quarter of the 2017 fiscal year, a 6% increase on the same month of last year.

Nike’s profit for the quarter was 7.3% higher at $842 million.

Sales for the Nike Brand were up 8% to $7.7 billion, driven by double-digit growth in Western Europe, Greater China and emerging markets, as well as strong performance from the sportswear and running categories.

Revenue for the Converse footwear brand came in at $416 million, a 5% increase, off the back of strong growth in North America.

Nike CEO, Mark Parker, said the brand’s innovation platforms, signature basketball styles, and personalised retail experiences mean it is well positioned to continue its revenue growth.
