Nike reaffirms commitment to renewable energy
Sportswear manufacturer Nike says it is committed to achieving 100% renewable energy use at all the facilities it owns or operates around the world by 2025.

The comments came as the company issued plans for a sixth building as part of the expansion of its global headquarters in Oregon, US. Construction is expected to begin mid-2017 and the building will include approximately 360,000 square feet of office space and an additional 330,000 square feet for parking.

Nike has signed a 10-year agreement with energy company Avangrid Renewables to purchase renewable energy for its facilities in Oregon. The agreement begins in January 2017 and includes all current and future buildings at its global headquarters, its in-house manufacturing service in Beaverton and most its owned or operated retail stores in the state.
