New global brand president for The North Face

VF-owned outdoor brand The North Face has promoted Arne Arens to the position of global brand president.

It comes just two months after he was appointed as the brand’s vice president and general manager in the Americas. This role saw him oversee The North Face’s business and strategic initiatives for sales, merchandising and direct-to-consumer business in the region.

Mr Arens joined VF in 2010 as vice president for sales for The North Face in Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA) region. Prior to that, he spent eight years at sportswear manufacturer Nike in a variety of sales and marketing roles.

VF group president Scott Baxter paid tribute to Mr Arens’ “strong leadership skills” and said his “deep understanding of the outdoor marketplace” makes him ideally suited to leading The North Face.
