VF pulls out of Argentinean factory

Outdoor group VF Corp has closed production at one of its Argentinean facilities due to falling sales in the country, according to local press.

More than 100 workers at the Aimogasta factory, in La Rioja Province in northwestern Argentina, could lose their jobs, the reports say.

Local mayor Florencia Lopez said they would not allow the factory to close, and it will operate as a cooperative instead.

VF will still produce jeans in Argentina, in a factory in Benito Juárez.
