Former Vans president returns to VF in new role

In this role, we will work closely with VF’s senior leadership team and the presidents of its global brands on key strategic projects.
These will include developing the footwear product strategy of The North Face, and supporting the integration of footwear brand Altra, which VF recently agreed to acquire.
It is a return to familiar ground for Mr Murray, who served as president of the Vans brand for five years after VF acquired it in 2004. He later served as president of VF’s Action Sports coalition.
VF chairman and CEO, Steve Rendle, said: “Steve is an ideal leader to provide this level of sharp focus for VF. He possesses a unique blend of apparel and footwear industry expertise, a proven record of leading successful businesses transformations, and an intimate knowledge of the VF business model, all of which will enable him to quickly create meaningful value.”
