VF adds another footwear brand to its portfolio

The brand was launched in 2011 by exercise equipment brand Icon Health & Fitness Inc., from which VF has agreed to acquire it. Its products are sold in 55 countries in specialty retail stores and through its own e-commerce platform.
“The acquisition of the Altra brand is another example of our efforts to reshape and evolve our portfolio of powerful brands to align with our enterprise value creation model,” explained Steve Rendle, VF chief executive.
He described Altra as “a unique and differentiated technical footwear brand”.
The transaction is expected to be completed in April 2018.
