Around 40 international students on the university’s ‘Design for the Fashion System’ Master’s programme will take part in the Sportswear Design workshop, which began in September and runs until December.
They will focus on developing garments with innovative shapes, materials and styles, specifically intended for the sportswear sector. The students will have the opportunity to work closely with instructors and staff from Radici during the course.
“It is important for these students, our future designers to learn how to design by combining the desired goal with the characteristics of the raw materials and the required innovative content. Knowledge of raw materials and the ability to maximise their utility must become an integral part of a modern designer’s background,” said Marco De Silvestri, marketing manager for Radici’s Comfort Fibres division.
At the end of the workshop, the students will be required to present their design concepts for sportswear garments and accessories. This will take the form of digital images or prototypes, depending on the complexity of their project.
