IAF establishes regional office in Pakistan

The International Apparel Federation (IAF) has inaugurated its first regional office. It will be located in the new headquarters of the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA) in Sialkot.

The aim of the office is to offer a link between PRGMEA member companies and the global network of services and knowledge offered by the IAF. It is hoped this will help Pakistani apparel manufacturers boost their exports and increase their compliance with international standards. 

The office was officially opened on September 27 in the presence of the Pakistani State Minister for Textile and Commerce, Haji Akram Ansari, and IAF President, Han Bekke. 

The IAF plans to run the regional office in Pakistan as a pilot project. If successful, it could lead to similar regional offices being established in other countries.
