The International Apparel Federation (IAF) has appointed Han Bekke (pictured, right) as its president. He succeeds Rahul Mehta, who had occupied the role since 2014.

The new president was chosen by IAF members at the organisation’s general assembly during the 32nd IAF World Fashion Convention in Mumbai, India (September 27-28).

Mr Bekke has been an IAF board member since 2014, having spent the previous eight years as secretary general. He is also chairman of the Dutch Trade Association for Fashion and Textiles (MODINT), which is a member of the IAF.
