Outdoor clothing company Ibex las laid off 12 employees in Vermont, US but says there are no plans to shut down its overall operations.

This development comes after Ibex announced in the summer that it would wind down its wholesale operations in order to focus on retail. It operates stores in Boston, Denver and Seattle as well as selling its products online.

Several outdoor sources have reported that Ibex is preparing to undergo a liquidation process, but this has been rejected by chief executive Ted Manning.

In a statement he said: “Contrary to a significant number of rumours, Ibex is still operating today. And while it is not clear how the story ends, all the paths forward will require very significant changes in the organisation, the business model and the ownership structure.”
