Ibex partners with clothing refurbishment scheme

Merino wool apparel manufacturer Ibex Outdoor Clothing has become a brand partner of The Renewal Workshop, an organisation that refurbished “unsellable” apparel returns and excess inventory.

The organisation was founded by Nicole Bassett and Jeff Denby, experienced apparel figures, to help brands turn their unsellable products back into high-quality apparel. It restores garments at its own factory before selling it back to the brand partner or through its own e-commerce marketplace, which is due to launch in Autumn.

Each garment is cleaned using waterless cleaning technology. Any damage to the clothing is repaired in line with the standards of the partner brand. The Renewal Workshop takes responsibility for the recycling of any product that can’t be renewed.

“The Renewal Workshop helps us complete our product life cycle in an authentic and third-party manor that is traceable,” says Keith Anderson, vice president of marketing for Ibex.

He added that partnering with The Renewal Workshop will allow Ibex to better inform its customers about the lifecycle or products, especially after purchase.
