The future of OutDoor may lie away from Friedrichshafen

As part of what it calls the Vision 2020 project, EOG has been carrying out a comprehensive review of the event with the help of independent experts. This review has examined all aspects of what the sector needs from OutDoor.
EOG has explained that the Vision 2020 team delivered its final report and recommendations in June, which were accepted by the association’s members.
They agreed that, although the core trade show should remain the same, the way it is delivered, and other aspects of its format should change. As a result, the EOG invited applications for potential trade show partners to develop the future direction of OutDoor.
The applications were assessed and the five most promising candidates were asked to submit their proposals for OutDoor. The candidates are: current partner Messe Friedrichshafen, Messe München, Messe Hamburg, Fiera Milano and Messe Stuttgart.
EOG has said the proposals are currently being evaluated by a committee of independent experts which will present its findings to the board of directors at the start of December. Those candidates that pass an initial screening will be invited to present their proposals at the EOG’s annual general assembly on January 27, 2018.
The EOG has enlisted a leading European provider of electoral services to administer and oversee the ballot process. Their votes will decide which candidate becomes the partner for OutDoor from 2019.
