Roica gains recognition from Japanese newspaper

Fibre manufacturer Asahi Kasei has announced that one of the stretch fibres from its Roica range has been recognised by Japanese fashion newspaper Senken Shimbun.

The company said Senken Simbun has “a great influence over the fashion business in Japan” and serves as a platform for promoting Japanese companies in overseas markets.

Its awards are only available to Japanese companies. This year, Roica’s GRS-certified yarn, part of the Roica Eco-Smart family of fibres, was selected in the newspaper’s ‘Sustainable’ category.

Senken Shimbun held a presentation ceremony for the awards on March 14, at which Roica displayed fabrics and garments made using this yarn. They came from producers like Iluna Group, Tessitura Colombo Antonio and Tintex, as well as from brands like Cosabella, Maloja and Triumph.
