SIA president urges members to stick with combined show

The president of SnowSports Industries America (SIA), Nick Sargent, has uses his monthly letter to the organisation’s members to clear up confusion about the schedule for upcoming Outdoor Retailer exhibitions.

He said the next Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (November 8-11), which unlike January’s show will not involve the Snow Show (formerly operated by SIA), is designed for outdoor apparel brands that have early deadlines and could be suitable for winter suppliers looking to offer a first glimpse of new products.

“In addition, the November Outdoor Retailer show will provide busy retailers with the ability to have first time conversations with manufacturers and product managers,” Mr Sargent explained.

He encouraged all SIA members to continue to show at the Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show, which will take place in January each year. He described this event as “THE national winter show” but said they could also consider a presence at the November show if they wish to “reveal” new products.

From 2019, the Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show will move two weeks earlier in the calendar. The next edition will take place January 8-11, 2019.
