SIA seeks to grow research role

The organisation said the appointment of Mr Coombs is part of its wider commitment to growing its research efforts.
To this end, it has also agreed to collaborate with market research company Adapt Analytics and the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. These partnerships will allow it to carry out new research projects.
“SIA is resolute in its commitment to evolve and grow research and data in effort to better support our members. With the additions of Ryan and Adapt, we will be able to provide relevant new data reports that are instrumental in making sound business decisions,” said Nick Sargent, president of SIA.
Following the sale of the Snow Show in May, SIA is seeking to define its role in the snow sports industry. Responsibility for that show now sits with Emerald Expositions, which also organises the Outdoor Retailer exhibitions, freeing SIA to increase its focus on research.
