PrimaLoft “strikes balance” between performance and sustainability

High-performance insulation materials provider PrimaLoft is using the ongoing OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany (June 17-20) to present its new range of insulation products made entirely from post-consumer recyled (PCR) material.

They are produced through a proprietary process which sees chips derived from recycled plastic bottles reconstructed into high-performance insulation fibres.

PrimaLoft has pointed out that these new insulation solutions are just one part of its efforts to lessen its impact on the environment. It carries out these activities under the slogan ’Relentlessly Responsible’.

“’Relentlessly Responsible’ represents our continuous commitment to providing sustainable solutions throughout our business in order to lessen our impact on the earth,” said Jochen Lagemann, PrimaLoft’s managing director for Europe and Asia. “We are striking an ideal balance between performance and sustainability, advancing our products without sacrificing either characteristic.”

The company has said it has already saved more than 84.7 million plastic bottles from landfills, and transformed them into insulation fibres. By 2020, it aims for 90% of its insulation products to have at least 50% PCR content.
