BCI Global Cotton Conference heads to Shanghai

23/08/2018
Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), the Geneva-based non-profit organisation that works to promote greater sustainability in cotton production around the world, has announced that its 2019 Global Cotton Conference will take place in Shanghai from June 11-13.

It described the 2018 conference, which was held in Brussels, as its “largest event to date”, with more than 340 people from across the cotton sector attending.

At the end of July, BCI announced it had increased its membership in the first half of 2018. There are now 37 civil society organisations, together with more than 350 brands committed to supporting cotton farmers through BCI.

BCI says around 15% of global cotton production currently qualifies as better cotton.
