Radici celebrates progress on renewable energy use
Synthetic fibres manufacturer Radici Group has released its Sustainability Report for 2017, which shows that it is continuing to reduce its use of fossil fuels to power its business.

Presenting the report, RadiciGroup president Angelo Radici (pictured), said: “Following our excellent environmental performance in recent years – also thanks to sizeable investments at all our sites - our trends in emissions, energy and the use of resources stayed positive.”

The report showed that 40.3% of the company’s total electrical energy consumption is now derived from renewable sources. During the past six years, it has reduced its total energy consumption from fossil fuels by 22%.

Away from environmental matters, Radici also drew attention to its efforts to expand its workforce, with a particular focus on recruiting younger workers. In 2017, the majority of its staff (52%) were aged 30-50. Those aged under 30 made up 14% of the total, while 34% of its workers are over 50.

“The people of a company are everything,” Mr Radici said. “They are the most precious resources. This is why I strongly believe in training, not only on technical job skills but also on safety, which I’d like to point out in particular. We’ve had excellent results and want to continue in this direction, all together as a team, to achieve other important goals.”
