GRS certification for two RadiciGroup products

30/10/2018
Italian yarn producer Radici has announced that its r-Radyarn and r-Starlight products, filament yarns made from post-consumer recycled PET bottles, have been granted Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification by the Textile Exchange.

“GRS certification was yet another goal achieved by the group, evidence of its customary transparency with the greatest clarity,” said Filippo Servalli, RadiciGroup marketing and sustainability director.

Compliance with GRS requirements allows Radici to provide a third-party-verified report with every delivery of r-Starlight and r-Radyarn, certifying the content and the origin of the recycled materials used to make the product, as well as its compliance with the environmental and social requirements of the entire supply chain.

In addition, Radici said these products are on the Textile Exchange’s list of “preferred fibres”. These are fibres that can be traced, comply with precise reporting standards, give positive environmental and social results, and whose environmental impact can be calculated using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
