Vans contributes to strong quarter for VF

Footwear and apparel group VF has reported revenue of $3.9 billion in the third quarter (period ended December 29), an increase of 8% compared to the same period of the previous financial year.

Sales from the group’s active brands, which include Vans and Napapijri, were up 16% year-on-year, driven by growth of 25% from Vans.

Its outdoor brands, which include Timberland, The North Face and Altra, recorded revenue growth of 11%. TNF saw its sales increase 14%, while VF said new acquisitions, such as Altra, contributed a four-percentage point revenue growth. 

VF said its international revenue increased 5% year-on-year during the quarter, including growth of 18% from China. 

The group now expects full-year revenue of at least $13.8 billion. This would represent growth of 12% compared to last year.
