No slowdown for cotton

02/04/2019
Global cotton production is set to hit a record 27.6 million tonnes 2019/20, boosted by an increase in yields.

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) has said the industry continues to face a number of challenges — trade uncertainties, slowing economic growth and weakening demand.

However, total consumption is predicted to reach 27.3 million tonnes, which would leave 17.7 million tonnes in the world’s warehouses at the end of next season.
