Cone Denim installs sustainability-focused Jeanologia technologies
In line with the company’s 2025 sustainability goals, Cone Denim has installed technology from Spain-based Jeanologia with the aim of providing more sustainable and eco-responsible denim manufacturing.

Jeanologia technologies are designed to provide sustainable and efficient fabric and garment finishing that significantly reduces the amounts of water, energy and chemicals needed, while minimising other hazards and pollutants involved in traditional denim finishing.

Cone is currently installing Jeanologia's G2 Dynamic Finishing Ranges and the Flexi Lab Laser capabilities in its Mexico and China platforms, as well as the Bluescan Device for Laser Blanket Analysis.

G2 Dynamic is said to be the first ozone treatment for continuous fabric, with equipment that mimics existing denim finishing appearance while using less water and no harmful chemicals. Flexi Lab helps to develop and test fabrics more efficiently, and Bluescan evaluates denim blankets automatically to give repeatable, standardised results.

Fabrics produced with these technologies are expected to be available in the Cone Denim Spring 2020 Collection.

“Jeanologia’s capabilities are opening new possibilities to bring together eco-friendly manufacturing with creative fabric innovation,” Steve Maggard, president of Cone Denim. “We are committed to working with like-minded partners to identify and lead initiatives in responsible manufacturing and sustainable innovations in line with our 2025 Sustainability Goals announced earlier this year.”
