Arc’teryx launches new ‘iconic’ retail concept
Canada-based technical high-performance apparel and equipment retailer Arc’teryx launched its new Icon store concept in mid-November, with the first of five planned US Icon stores opening in Walnut Creek, California.
One more Icon store is scheduled to open in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2020 and an additional three New York City locations are planned for this year.
VP of retail excellence at Arc’teryx, Megan Cheesbrough, said: “In recent months we’ve had to rethink the way we retail. Our Arc’teryx Icon stores make shopping simple, especially for those who are new to the brand. In this space, guests can see what makes Arc’teryx apparel so outstanding and learn about our most celebrated products.”
Each Icon store will showcase a narrow selection of “iconic” Arc’teryx products, such as the Alpha SV and Atom LT jackets, in a space inspired by wood-frame backcountry huts.
Shoppers can either purchased their desired item(s) in-store or, if their size is currently out-of-stock on-site, browse online inventory using a tablet.
