New protective clothing research institute in China
Local media have reported that the idea for a new protective clothing research institute in Hebei province, north-eastern China, has been formally inaugurated.
Following approval by local government in August 2020, Hebei Protective Clothing Industry Technology Research Institute will be jointly managed by Hebei University of Science and Technology in Shijiazhuang, plus local companies Baoding Sanyuan Textile Technology and Hebei Jingyu Garment.
The new research institute will be supported by Yiming Apparel and Equipment Technology Group. Its primary goal is to “integrate scientific and technological innovation resources related to protective clothing, improve research and development, enhance product performance and promote the positive transformation of the industry,” local media said.
During the inauguration, Yang Yi, chairman of Garment Equipment Technology Group, was named dean and chairman of the institute.
