Local media have reported that Shandong province’s Linyi Hengfeng Textile Technology has recently led on the successful development of a mosquito repellent, refined cotton yarn. 

The breathable yarn features a “special cooling fragrance”, which repels mosquitos and “purifies” the air. It also reportedly repels dampness, plus relieves pain and itchiness. 

The company also stated that the yarn’s properties make it able to “regulate the qi and blood” and “soothe body and mind”.
