Local media have reported that, as of November 24, 2020, more than 150,000 textile-related start-ups have been created in China in 2020, an increase of around 15.8% on the previous year. 

At present, there are reportedly more than 1.3 million manufacturing enterprises engaged in textile-related production in China. 

Zhejiang province has the largest distribution of textile companies, around 224,000, while Jiangsu province ranks second, with approximately 204,000 related organisations. Both Guangdong and Shandong provinces each have over 100,000 textile-related enterprises.

The same report also concluded that Vietnam, India and Cambodia remain China’s “strongest” competitors in the textile and apparel field.
