New adidas factory can make 10m shoes per year
China-based Zhansheng Group completed work on its new Adidas Taoyuan Industrial Park (in Taoyuan, Hunan province) in November. Local politicians attended the opening ceremony, along with the VP of Adidas Asia and Zhansheng Group’s chairman.
Zhansheng Group is the only domestic Chinese company making adidas products in mainland China. The park is reportedly the largest intelligent, automated and standardised production base in the country.
Sources suggest that the total project investment amounted to almost ¥600 million RMB (approximately $91 million USD) and that the park features 48 intelligent production lines, able to produce 10 million pairs of adidas shoes per year.
It is estimated that the enterprise will provide close to 6000 jobs in total.
