Graphene-enabled body-measuring suit launched in Keqiao

Keqiao Textile Industry Technology Centre of Jiangnan University in Jiangsu province, China, has recently unveiled a smart, stretchy body-measuring bodysuit with graphene technology after four years of research and develop-ment, local media have reported.

The high-elasticity knitted garment has been designed to especially “empower” the apparel brands which call China Textile City, Keqiao (Zhejiang province), home by providing “precise” body-measuring services for fabric dealers, designers, stylists and garment workers, among others. However, a spokes-person said that the suit had also already positively impacted the businesses of zero-inventory and geographically diverse clothing brands, based further afield than the market.

The bodysuit’s graphene-rich sensory threads across the chest, waist and abdomen update the user’s mobile phone with “accurate” measurements in real-time via Bluetooth, supported by “an external chip”.
