Converse collections celebrate basketball history

Footwear brand Converse is releasing five capsule collections inspired by defining moments in basketball’s 130-year history.

The All Star BB Evo and Chuck 70 come in a green and rose-orange colour scheme inspired by the peach baskets that were used as basketball's first makeshift rims in the 1890s.

Converse’s second Breaking Down Barriers collection honours the 1954-55 Crispus Attucks High School basketball team winning the state of Indiana’s championship, marking the first time an all-Black team won Indiana’s state title.

The Converse Pro Leather (pictured) features the original ABA colours, celebrating the National Basketball Association merger with the American Basketball Association in 1976, and uses interchangeable star chevrons.

The Iridescent Pack represents when the NBA lifted its lifted its footwear colourway restrictions in 2018, and a Then and Now collection channels 1971, when Converse's original canvas basketball shoe left the court.
