Lululemon report finds global wellbeing is lacking

A Lululemon-commissioned survey of 10,000 adults in 10 countries found only a third had strong wellbeing across physical, mental and social measures.

The Canadian yogawear brand’s first Global Wellbeing Report creates an “index of wellbeing” and explores barriers to being well.

The past year, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, took a toll on global confidence, it said. Only 40% of people felt optimistic about the future compared with 60% a year earlier.

The survey found only 15% consider themselves in good physical health, only 17% feel they are able to manage stress effectively and only 19% feel like they have enough energy to be able to accomplish things they need to do every day.

Lululemon CEO Calvin McDonald said: "At lululemon, we believe in a holistic approach to wellbeing that helps create a healthier future for all. This research accelerates our efforts to support the wellbeing of the guests [customers], employees and the communities we serve.”

The survey included 1,000 within each of 10 countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, China, and Japan.
