Xinjiang sanctions good news for Indian cotton
India Rating and Research (Ind-Ra) data suggests that cotton prices in India rose by 7-10% in January, compared to statistics from the preceding month.
The country’s cotton exports increased by 27.5% year-on-year during December 2020 and by 96% for the October-December quarter, when contrasted with the same period a year previous.
Higher demand for Indian cotton is attributed to shrunken demand for cotton sourced from China’s Xinjiang province.
