Converse Japan supplies more technical ‘camping’ footwear
Converse Japan has followed up on its summer 2020 Camping Supply collection with three footwear designs, accompanied by a wallet, sacoche and cinch bag by Gregory Mountain Products.
The QAK CP (an updated version of Converse’s QUAKE outdoor shoe, first released in 1992) has been realised in two colourways, dark navy and dark beige, along with the RSS CP FR shoe (a new take on the cross-training RESISTOR shoe from 1995) in silver.
Both styles feature outdoor specifications.
The QAK CP’s uppers are made from Cordura’s eco fabric - made from a minimum of 40% recycled yarn content - which has been treated with Teflon, known for its durability, water repellency and stain resistance. A gore lace/cord lock system for the QAK CP shoes’ fastening means that they are easy to put on and take off.
The RSS CP FR style, on the other hand, has an upper made from tarpaulin (often used in disaster prevention equipment, due to its waterproof properties and the fact that it does not burn easily), plus nylon and a polyurethane surface coating. The style’s cobra buckles adds to its “toughness”, while still making it highly functional.
Wear-fighting toeboxes, removable cushioned insoles and grippy outsoles round out the collection.
