Recover boosts Polopiqué’s use of recycled cotton

Recover, a producer of “low impact” recycled cotton fibre and blends located in Spain, recently entered into a multi-year partnership with vertically integrated Portuguese textile producer Polopiqué, which specialises in knitted textiles (particularly for men’s sportswear).

Reportedly, Polopiqué’s products already contain a minimum of 50% recycled cotton and Global Recycled Standard (GRS)-certified polyester.

It said that, following its adoption of Recover’s lowest impact recycled cotton fibre, it would be able to further reduce its environmental footprint.

The partnership will enable both businesses to scale their global reach and, therefore, increase their proximity to customers. Whereas the Portuguese company revealed that it currently exports to 47 countries, working with 1,065 partners worldwide, Recover also emphasised that it would have established new production hubs in both Pakistan and Bangladesh by the end of this year, “to support the current market demand”.
