US Cotton Trust Protocol to go live for growers

Roughly a year since its initial launch, the US Cotton Trust Protocol (Trust Protocol), a voluntary farm-level sustainability programme designed to document US-based cotton farmers’ best management practices, has announced a series of six grower enrolment webinars.

“We invite all US cotton growers to join us and learn the many benefits of membership in the programme,” commented Trust Protocol president, Dr Gary Adams.

The live information sessions are currently scheduled to take place throughout the remainder of 2021, with all webinars due to go live at 08:00 Central Standard Time (CST) on each of the following dates: September 14, September 29, November 2, November 16, December 9 and December 14. Those interested in participating may register here

Dr Adams added: “US cotton growers have led the way in innovation, quality and the responsible stewardship of their land for decades. The Trust Protocol builds off those efforts from the past 35 years to help constantly improve growing practices through innovation, knowledge sharing and advancements.”

More than 300 companies - brands, retailers, mills and manufacturers - signed up to the Trust Protocol in its first six months. Montreal-headquartered Gilden Activewear, the owner of brands including Gilden and American Apparel, is one of the most recent organisations to have been onboarded.
