07/03/2022
B Corps, of which there are today more than 4,500 across just under 80 countries, are legally bound by the requirement to analyse the impact of every business decision on all stakeholders, including workers, customers, communities and the environment.
The Icelandic firm has described itself as “carbon neutral” since 2019 and considers circularity and durability to be its core values, according to its website. It currently provides a repair service for every item it has ever sold, with the express intention to reduce consumption over the long-term.
Following the announcement, the brand stated: “66°North creates high-quality, multipurpose products that are ‘made for life’, combining the use of durable materials that are traceable and certified to the highest standard with a design philosophy and manufacturing techniques that eliminate waste and ensure longevity.”
