Calvin Klein pursues data-driven down jackets in China
New York City-headquartered casualwear brand Calvin Klein has teamed up with both Shanghai’s Donghua University and the local, Alibaba-powered, Tmall Innovation Center (TMIC) to establish the 2022 Innovation Design Camp Project.

Launched in 2017, TMIC provides its business-to-consumer sellers with a suite of services enabled by its data-driven insights, designed to supply companies with the relevant information needed to innovate in the Chinese market.

As part of this latest project, Donghua students will create new down jacket designs for the brand, led by the TMIC’s most up-to-date insights.

Chinese sportswear firm Anta also recently established its own innovation centre at Donghua, which was itself formally approved as a “modern textile frontier scientific research base” last September
