Post-Olympics winter sports boom continues in China

The authorities in Jilin province in north-eastern China have reported a large number of visits from winter sports enthusiast in the early part of 2023.

Changchun Longjia International Airport in the province, which is home to a number of ski resorts, registered almost 2 million passenger arrivals in the first 40 days of the year, with skiers and snowboarders making up 60% of passengers.

Media in China have said enthusiasm for winter sports continues to grip China following the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
