Indorama bids Uday Gill a ‘fond farewell’
Fibre manufacturing group Indorama Ventures, based in Bangkok, has bid a “fond farewell” to Uday Gill (pictured), who has now left the company after 16 years of service, most recently in the role of chief strategy officer following 13 years as chief executive of its fibres division.
Mr Gill, a former Fulbright scholar who earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Punjab Agricultural University, was described as a caring and "extraordinary" leader by Indorama, where he had also been executive director of the board since 2011, as well as a member of its sustainability and risk management committee. The business said Mr Gill had “supported his team and the company to reach new heights” and “never accepted the status quo”.
His departure to “start a new chapter” was marked by a farewell event attended by company executives.
Mr Gill currently remains in place as a member of the board for both the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) in Zurich and the five-year BioTexFuture project, backed by Germany’s education and research ministry and co-led by sports group adidas and the Institute for Textile Technology at RWTH Aachen University.
He has also been an independent director at Vardhman Textiles since June 2022.
Indorama reported annual revenues of $18.7 billion earlier this year, representing growth of 28% versus 2021.
