Warp knitting specialist Cifra will use Performance Days in Munich (October 4 and 5) to present prototype of sports garments made from new yarn compositions.

Regenerated and biobased fibres feature in the new compositions, as do pre- and post-consumer recycled monomaterials, particularly polyamide 6 and 6.6.

With regard to biobased fibres, the Italian company picked out its use of Nilit’s Sensil By Nature as a highlight. This nylon 6.6 uses biomass balance technology to add biobased content and decrease the amount of fossil-based raw material in its composition. In this case, the biobased content is derived from biogas produced from organic waste.
