Vollebak’s next challenge: wooden jackets
Never one to shy away from a material challenge, UK brand Vollebak has unveiled its latest product: a jacket made from wood.
Co-founding brothers Nick and Steve Tidball were inspired by a car from their childhood, which had bodywork made out of wood, complete with mushrooms growing out of the side.
Steve said: “Our Wooden Jacket is all about the technical feat versus the performance advantage of the material. It forces us to tackle, then solve, technical challenges that would otherwise remain completely theoretical.”
With a prototype made, the limited-edition product is “being grown”, priced at £2,495.
