Ortovox appoints new CEO

German outdoor brand Ortovox is promoting Stefan Kohlbauer lead executive, with effect on March 1, 2025. Born in Austria, and an avid mountaineer, he has been working for the brand for the past two and a half years, lately as director of sales and marketing.

Martin Riebel, managing director of the Schwan-Stabilo Outdoor Group, held the interim CEO position since late last year, when Christian Schnerdermeir left the company (since this month he now heads the European Outdoor Group).

“Stefan Kohlbauer is a very experienced industry expert with a deep understanding of the brand, markets and a clear vision for the future of Ortovox. His focus on healthy growth, sustainability, innovation and partnership-based cooperation will further strengthen our brand. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to place an internal candidate at this important position,” commented Mr Riebel.
