Ortovox sidesteps water repellents with first PFC-free backpacks

The Dry series consists of three backpack models that use a waterproof outer material and a high-frequency welding technique on the seams.
The outer material’s combination of a thin PU outer coating and a TPU coating inner makes it waterproof without additional durable water repellent treatment.
Three quarters of the products for the new season will be made up of designs from last year.
Its Westalpen “system” includes a hardshell, softshell and insulating layer that use Dermizax NX membranes, merino wool and a Cordura-Dyneema mix for durability.
