Ortovox’s sourcing practices praised by Fair Wear
22/01/2021
Ortovox monitored 92% of its production companies in accordance with FWF guidelines, despite covid-19 restrictions, and said it worked closely with other Fair Wear Foundation members and partners to minimise risks caused by the crisis in the producing countries.
Stefanie Rieder-Haas, co-head of CSR at Ortovox: “Every year we aim to achieve Fair Wear Foundation leader status. This aim is part of our Protact2024 sustainability strategy – we want to proceed transparently and responsibly over the long term. The global pandemic has presented us with new challenges, however.
“The fact that we achieved 79 points in 2020, a year marked by the uncertainty, distance and challenges presented by Covid-19, and thus even managed to outperform our previous year’s score, is a major commendation and encouragement for us all as a team to keep doing what we are doing.”
Ortovox joined the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles and Fair Wear Foundation in 2015, the European Outdoor Conservation Association in 2016, and in 2017 published its own wool standard, the Ortovox Wool Promise.
