Jelenew ushers in pregnancy kit 2.0
A women’s cycling brand created by French World Champion and Olympic Medallist Marion Clignet, Jelenew has updated its kit designed for expectant mothers. ‘Tailored to adapt to changing body needs’, the jersey top has a zipper placed to minimise friction on the abdomen and a looser fit around the belly. It combines three fabrics, a Carvico knit on the chest, and a nylon/elastane and a polyester/elastane blend on the body. True to the brand’s no bib approach, the cycling shorts also feature a loose panel around the belly, but a compressive fabric for the legs to reduce swelling and chafing. The brand uses Coats sewing threads that are said to be skin-friendly and antibacterial.

Founded in 2021, Jelenew has developed a patented Curvetec technology designed specifically for women’s morphologies. It has drawn on French haute couture techniques to design a three-dimensional draped construction using different functional fabrics for different body zones. These, it said, are engineered to support key muscle groups.
