Salewa’s vows circular ‘Love’
Oberalp Group outdoor brand Salewa has launched a new manifesto called 'Salewa Love' to highlight its commitment to circular product design and as part of the group’s social and environmental ‘Contribute’ platform. This new strategy has three pillars: ‘Respect’ concerning working conditions and production; ‘Re-Think’ dedicated to circular product design with a focus on durability, resource-efficient and recyclable materials, and repairability; and ‘Re-Love’, designed to keep products in use for as long as possible.
Re-Poles are the first products to translate these concepts into real life, a set of entirely self-repairable trekking poles. Salewa has designed each piece of the poles to be easy to replace and is making the spare parts available.
The family-owned group is also in the process of developing a takeback system to ensure that its products are directed to the best re-use or disposal solution. It also ambitions to achieve the status of a “Net Zero Company” by 2050.
Salewa continues to exhibit its dedication to low impact materials in its spring 2026 collection with PFAS-free outerwear and wool-based performance layers (pictured).
