HeiQ improves odour management

Textile technology provider HeiQ’s latest product can eliminate odour such as the “plastic” smell of polyester or body hormones as well as odour from bacterial sweat, according to the Swiss company.

HeiQ Fresh NKU sequesters these volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to its surface sorbent particles, more precisely engineered alumina-silica microparticles. Unpleasant volatile odour compounds are immobilized on the large surface of the particles and turned into non-volatile and non-perceivable odour compounds.

HeiQ will present the technology at the Techtextil trade fair in Frankfurt (May 9 to 12).

In June, it will release the findings of its latest consumer exercise to its brand partners including Mammut and New Balance, sharing insights on odour control.
