HeiQ creates textile finish to make fabrics feel like silk

11/03/2016
Textile technology provider HeiQ has developed a treatment to give fabrics a silky feel by applying a minute amount of the raw material to the surface of any fabric.

HeiQ Real Silk transfers the characteristics to fabric types such as polyamide, polyester, cotton as well as blends, said the Swiss company.

This technology makes use of short polymer fibres created in the a new pilot production plant at HeiQ’s R&D subsidiary in Geelong, Australia.

The first adopter of the technology is longstanding partner Bekaert Deslee, a mattress maker, but HeiQ is seeking partners in the fashion sphere.
