Bauer uses Cocona technology for fast-drying hockey apparel
New Hampshire-based Bauer Performance Sports is using new 37.5 technology from Colorado-based Cocona Natural Technologies. The fast-drying moisture management process features in Bauer Hockey’s base layer, training apparel and protective equipment.
Apparel featuring 37.5 technology is said to dry up to six times faster than alternative products. While some fabrics wick moisture around the garment, trapping humidity close to the athlete’s skin, 37.5 technology uses body heat to evaporate moisture and release sweat.
“Athletes have come to trust our products for the innovative technologies that elevate their game, and this exclusive agreement positions us as the first company to be delivering this innovation to the team sports we serve,” said Kevin Davis, president and chief executive officer, Bauer Performance Sports. “As we expand this partnership, we look forward to delivering 37.5 technology into other sports across our platform.”
Jeff Bowman, chief executive officer, Cocona, added: “This is an exciting launch for those of us who love hockey. Bauer is the first to take the 37.5 technology from the outdoor sports world where it is well established to team sports, where it can provide a competitive advantage.”
