Sustainability on agenda in Copenhagen
A label aiming to educate consumers to care for their clothes in a more sustainable way was among project launches at the recent Copenhagen Fashion Summit, a biennial event focusing on sustainable fashion.

An online platform helping designers make more sustainable choices in the design and production process, Restart Fashion: Five Easy Steps to Sustainability, was also presented at the event.
The summit marked the one-year anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse with a minute’s silence and a speech by the Bangladesh Accord’s executive director of international operations, Alan Roberts.

A debate on innovative materials and how to integrate ‘responsibility’  into the creative processes was moderated by Vanessa Friedman, fashion editor of the Financial Times. She was joined by Chantal Malingrey-Perrin, marketing director of Premiere Vision; Marco Lucietti, marketing director at ISKO; Catarina Midby, head of sustainable fashion at H&M; and Giusy Bettoni, CEO of CLASS.

Companies taking part in an exhibition dedicated to textile innovations included Thermore, Newlife by Sinterama, E.Boselli, and E.Volution by Miroglio Textile.
