Footwear brands volunteer 15,000 hours
Employees from outdoor brands Wolverine, Timberland, Rocky Brands and ECCO were among 6,500 from US footwear companies that dedicated 15,000 hours to helping communities during Footwear Cares month.

Two Ten Footwear Foundation, the charity which organised the event, put a figure of $330,000 as the value the hours were worth.

It said 517,549 meals were prepared and served; 11,000 pairs of new shoes were distributed to children; and 20 environmental projects were completed to enhance coastlines, nature trails and recreation facilities.

Two Ten Footwear Foundation president Neal Newman said: “Two Ten Footwear Foundation was founded 75 years ago by shoe people who came together, rolled up their sleeves and helped raise money for the war effort and footwear families struggling to make ends meet. I’m proud to say that 75 years later, shoe people still lead the pack when it comes to volunteerism and community service.”

Sports brands Puma, Under Armour, Skechers and Converse also took part.
